From January 2025 the Catholic Parishes of St Albans will be paired. Fr Michael O’Boy, the current Parish Priest of St Alban & St Stephen, and Fr John Casey, the current Assistant Priest at St Alban & St Stephen, will serve both parishes, along with Rev. Brendan Day, the permanent deacon at St Alban & St Stephen.
The pairing of parishes has necessitated some changes in the Sunday and Weekday Mass schedules for both parishes.
From Monday 13th January the schedule for the Catholic Parishes of St Albans will be as follows:

HOLY WEEK MASS TIMES
The Sacred Triduum
Maundy Thursday Jesus celebrated the first Mass saying ‘this is my body’ and ‘this is my blood’ and asked us to do the same ‘in memory of me’. He washed the feet of his disciples commanding all who would follow him to serve their neighbour. ‘I have set you an example’, he says, ‘that you should do as I have done for you’ (John 13:15).
Good Friday ‘God so loved the world that he sent his only Son so that all who believe in him should not perish but have eternal life’ (John 3:16). We remember Christ’s death on the cross, reverencing the cross on which Christ showed the depth of His love for us.
Holy Saturday Jesus rose from the dead, victorious over sin and death. This evening we celebrate the light of Christ coming into the world. At the empty tomb the angel said to the women ‘Do not be afraid, He is not here; He has risen’ (Matthew 28:5).
The Catholic Community in St Albans is served by two churches: St Alban & St Stephen, near the city station, and St Bartholomew to the south of the city. Everyone is very welcome to celebrate the Holy Week and Easter liturgies across our three locations:

Opening Times:
St Alban & Stephen Church Opening
The church will be open from 8am in the morning until 7pm or after the evening Mass.
People are welcome to visit at any time.
Hand Hygiene
Hand sanitisers are available at the back of the Church and we would ask that people use these on entering.
Offertory Collection
We continue to encourage people to give by Standing Order or by using the contactless points in the porch.
